American Banker, a leading publication covering trends, regulations and technologies driving the financial services industry, recently published an article titled ‘Banks can meet Gen Z where they are, via platforms like Spotify’ featuring highlights from the ‘Reaching the next generation of banking customers’ session at American Banker’s Digital Banking conference that took place earlier this summer.
Brian Elkins, Executive Director of Financial Services at Monigle, was featured as a panelist in the session along with others from Spotify, Chime and Greenlight. The session dove into valuable insights from new research on how banks can leverage fintechs to bring a differentiated experience and enhance value for customers, including Gen Z, the next generation of consumers.
Gen Z is seeking resources providing financial literacy and information, on their terms, given that they view financial planning differently than previous generations due to factors such as shifts in life expectancy and high job turnover rates. Brian shared that to meet Gen Z where they are, financial institutions can leverage personalization by connecting with their interests and personalities.
